Host: Jim Schneider

Guest: Phyllis Schlafly

Listen: MP3 | Real Audio | Windows Media | Order CD

The first half of this Crosstalk broadcast focused on a decision made by the city council of Cedar Falls, Iowa. They are now requiring the city’s businesses and apartment complexes to post their keys outside in city lock boxes. This will allow police and fire officials to enter in case of an emergency and avoid damaging property, especially in instances of false alarms.

Phyllis Schlafly is the President and Founder of Eagle Forum. She appeared during the second half-hour of this Crosstalk to discuss House Resolution 1249, the America Invents Act (Formerly the Patent Reform Act). This act would basically strip away the right of inventors to claim exclusive rights to their invention. It would move the rights from the first to invent something to the first to file a patent on that same invention.
