Joni Eareckson Tada is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Joni and Friends International Disability Center and is an international advocate for people with disabilities. She has a daily radio ministry Joni & Friends which is celebrating 30 years of ministry

The first half of this edition of Crosstalk looked at the value of human life and the responsibility of Christians to help the handicapped.

Joni begins by going back to when she broke her neck in 1967 and from there she gives listeners an overview of her ministry life, the specific challenges of special needs families and pro-active steps that churches can take to help these kinds of families. She also comments on today’s Supreme Court decision concerning Obamacare, the importance of having an advanced healthcare directive, and more.

Mat Staver is the Founder and President of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law.

Mat joined Jim for the second half of this Crosstalk to discuss today’s 5-4 Supreme Court vote that upholds the individual mandate within Obamacare (The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act). The mandate was saved by being described by Chief Justice Roberts (a Bush appointee) as a tax.

Mat presented his expert opinion regarding the medical, economic and political fallout of this decision as well as updating listeners on the contempt of Congress proceedings involving Attorney General Eric Holder.
