Tom DeWeese is the President of the American Policy Center. Tom is one of the nation’s leading advocates of individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education and American sovereignty and independence.

Tom described Agenda 21 as a document that came out of the 1992 Earth Summit that was sponsored by the United Nations. It was the culmination of several years of various other documents and meetings by non-governmental Organizations (NGO) like the Sierra Club, the Nature Conservancy, the Audubon Society and others. Eventually these documents were merged into one to become Agenda 21 which stands for ‘Agenda for the 21st Century’. It’s a blueprint for reorganizing human society based upon environmental concerns.

Tom takes issue with the social equity platform of Agenda 21 which he equates to the redistribution of wealth. So what he’s seeing is attacks on private property ownership, loss of American jobs and the rise of what’s called, ‘environmental justice’ all in the name of harmonizing America with the rest of the world.

Interestingly, the Southern Poverty Law Center has contracts with the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies and they’ve helped write reports on what organizations are to be considered a domestic terrorist threat.

Earlier this year, the SPLC issued a 22 page report called–Agenda 21: The U.N. Sustainability and Right-Wing Conspiracy Theory. Tom is personally named in this report a total of 23 times.

Tom went on to outline the growth steps of Agenda 21 and how these steps prove the dangers of this document in spite of the fact that he admits it’s not a treaty and does not have the force of law.
