News Round-Up 2-19-16

​Many news items from this week were reviewed, among them:

–A decorated Green Beret, an Army Sergeant, is awaiting a decision by Army officials about whether he will be disciplined and discharged from the service for protecting an Afghan boy who had been raped by a Taliban police officer.  Instead, the United States is permitting Afghan soldiers to assault minors on U.S. Military bases.
 
–A Jewish Columbus, Ohio restaurant owner has decided to close his business and move back to Israel after a Somali muslim, Mohamed Barry, attacked his patrons with a machete.

–An aggressive Muslim student in an Maryland school claimed to have a bomb in his car and threatened to use it in the school, shouting “Allahu Akbar”, the jihad victory cry.  But he will not be disciplined–in contrast to students elsewhere who were suspended action as simple as taking a bite out of a Pop Tart so it was shaped like a gun.

–FBI agents in California, have now searched the apartment belonging to a relative of one of the shooters, who recently killed several employees of the Inland Regional Center for people with developmental disabilities, in San Bernardino.

–Senator Charles Schumer is criticizing the Barack Obama administration for proposing cutting funds for anti-terrorism efforts.

–The largest organization at the United Nations, including all 56 Muslim nations, is now voting as a block to criticize Israel and pass resolutions banning criticism of Islam.

–Refugees have now committed over 200,000 crimes since 2014–not including sexual assaults that took place on New Year’s Eve.  Germans now are increasingly calling for their chancellor, Angela Merkel, to resign for her actions promoting the immigration of thousands of “Syrian” refugees, something she now admits is becoming a crisis situation in Europe.

–Hungary’s central bank is increasing security, citing the increasing terror threat from thousands of Syrian immigrants.

–A man on a small Scottish island was arrested for criticizing the planned settlement of a thousand “Syrian” refugees to add to the native population of just over 3000.

–China will now require approval before foreign or joint ownership businesses can post information online.

–UPI says North Korea may be planning a terror attack on South Korea.

–ISIS may have acquired materials which disappeared from a city near Basra, which could be used to make a dirty bomb.

–A firestorm of protests has followed the recent change in European labeling rules for goods manufactured in the “west bank” and in the new Jewish “settlements”, banning labels stating they were “made in Israel”

–Arizona and Georgia are moving to ban the sale of aborted baby parts, with criminal penalties.

–A company doing business with Planned Parenthood in Missouri is being fined for shipping fetal remains in containers to a medical waste processing plant in Indiana, because the company is banned from doing it themselves in Missouri.

–California judges continue to deny challenges to a law that requires pro-life pregnancy centers to provide information about the availability of low cost or free abortion services.

–Women at a swimming pool in Olympia, Washington, were shocked when a man walked into their locker room, saying he has a “right” to be there.  Authorities say, however, that even though the law allows use of restrooms by opposite sex individuals, it does not preclude prosecution for voyeurism or exhibitionism for those taking advantage of the law.

–Stories, and callers, discussed the increasing frequency of attempts across the country to get local officials in cities, counties, schools, and even states, to pass laws or regulations permitting people to use the restroom corresponding with their current “gender identity”, rather than the sex they were assigned at birth.
