Being the month of June, there’s a lot of buzz going on about LGBT pride. However, President Trump has yet to issue an LGBT pride proclamation and radical homosexual groups such as the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) are not happy about this.

On the other hand, Elaine Donnelly, the president for the Center for Military Readiness, feels the president deserves praise for not issuing such a proclamation and that the Department of Defense should not be used for demonstration by special interests. Matt Barber, a constitutional attorney and founder of www.BarbWire.com also sides with the president.

Newsweek magazine also contained an article noting the breaking from tradition that was taking place by President Trump in failing to recognize June as LGBT pride month. The article talks about the Stonewall Riots that occurred in June of 1969 in New York City which are considered to be the beginning of the modern LGBT rights movement.

In spite of what the president hasn’t done regarding this issue, several federal agencies like the Pentagon are hosting LGBT pride events just as they did during the 2 terms of President Obama.

What’s also changed is the theme of pride marches across the nation. Rather than merely celebrating homosexuality, transgenderism and all the recent judicial wins by the LGBT movement, there’s a militant call to resist what organizers regard as oppressive societal and government forces. In other words, parades will become resistance marches.

Pro-LGBT corporate sponsors, however, are allegedly becoming nervous over this move from celebration to outright political action. Reliable corporate sponsors from the past are pulling their support from the round of events this year. Sponsors in Los Angeles opting out include Nissan and Wells-Fargo Bank, citing corporate policies against participation in political rallies.

Jim had much more to say as he continued his look at the LGBT calendar for June and he also took time to hear from Crosstalk listeners as well.
