Our current U.S. debt is at 15.2 trillion dollars. President Obama sent a letter to Congress last week saying the government is within 100 billion of reaching the debt ceiling and it must be raised immediately and that we must borrow more to meet existing commitments.

President Obama has been increasing the national debt during his presidency by an average of $4.24 billion per day. This puts him on a pace to increase the national debt by $6.2 trillion by the end of his current term. That’s more debt than was accumulated by all U.S. Presidents from George Washington through Bill Clinton combined.

Is there a political climate in Congress to deliver a balanced budget? During this year of presidential campaigning, can the Republicans be pressured into change on this issue? Get the answers to these and many other budget questions when you review this vital edition of Crosstalk.
