Air Date: September 10, 2014
Host: Vic Eliason
Guest: Mat Staver
Mat Staver is the founder, president and general counsel of Liberty Counsel, an international, non-profit litigation, education and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life and the family.
According to a Rasmussen Report, 66% of likely voters polled feel America is headed in the wrong direction. Vic had Mat comment on those things that are helping to drive this feeling of uncertainty.
For example, Matt presented an update on the case of Justina Pelletier, the young girl who was separated from her parents for 16 months by Massachusetts legal and medical authorities.
Another item of discussion concerned the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals that struck down marriage protection amendments in Wisconsin and Indiana. Liberty Counsel filed briefs in these cases. Mat comments on 7th Circuit Court Judge Richard Posner, who believes that if a rapist gets more pleasure from raping than the victim gets from the assault, perhaps we should issue the rapist a rape license.
As the program continued, Vic and Mat discussed the latest on the IRS scandal, Obamacare, American policy regarding Israel and input/questions from Crosstalk listeners.
