The following are some of the gun-rights news items that are dealt with on this Second Amendment edition of Crosstalk, a broadcast that also featured comments and the concerns of the listening audience.
–A 72 year old retired school teacher in New Jersey, who is a collector of 18th century memorabilia, faces a 10 year felony sentence for the possession of an unloaded, 300 year old flintlock pistol. His pension is now in jeopardy.
–A plan is being considered to ban AR-15 rounds calling them ‘armor piercing’. Since this round can be shot with a pistol, the Obama administration is arguing for a ban because it’s not for sporting purposes.
–Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy wants to limit standard magazines across the entire nation to 10 rounds.
–No new guns can be sold in California that don’t have micro-stamping capability from the hammer to the bullet so that it can be determined what gun the bullet was fired from.
–The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (S-498/HR-923)–If you’re licensed to carry in your home state, you’d be legal to carry in all 50 states.
