Guest: Jimmy DeYoung
This morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel addressed a joint session of Congress. President Obama was very much opposed to this event and certain Democratic legislators boycotted the session. Even Secretary of State John Kerry warned how this might subvert negotiations taking place between the U.S. and Iran.
Joining Jim from Serbia to discuss this was Dr. Jimmy DeYoung. Dr. DeYoung is a student of Bible prophecy, conference speaker and an expert on the Middle East. He leads a ministry called Prophecy Today and has spent many years living in Israel as well as having led many trips there. He constantly monitors news regarding Israel and the Middle East and provides a unique blend of political, biblical and prophetic insight that is absent from the media today.
Why did Speaker of the House John Boehner invite Netanyahu to speak before this joint session of Congress? Dr. DeYoung believes that there’s a good relationship between Boehner and Netanyahu. He also noted that Boehner needed something to grab the attention of the world and show leadership within the Republican party by allowing Netanyahu to make a statement, not just to the joint houses of Congress, but to the people of America about the danger of the Iranian threat, both from the nuclear and terrorist perspectives.
During the first half-hour, Jim provided brief audio clips of Netanyahu’s speech for listeners to hear backed up by comments from Dr. DeYoung. The second half of the program then looked at the messianic goals and eschatology that motivates the leaders of Iran as well as the prophetic implications involved.
