Over the weekend President Obama delivered a speech in Selma, Alabama, marking the 50th anniversary of the march that ultimately led to passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He used this time to express a broader connection between America’s movements for social justice among the black community and homosexual rights. In communicating like this he’s seeking to impart credibility to the changeable characteristic of one’s sexual preference by relating it to the unchangeable characteristic of skin color.
Below are several examples that Jim highlighted showing how efforts like that of President Obama merely fan the flames of defiance toward God in America. Some examples included:
–The U.S. Supreme Court has announced that on April 28th they’re going to be hearing arguments over so-called same-sex marriage. The New England Patriots of the NFL and the Tampa Bay Rays and San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball signed a brief in favor of same-sex marriage. A total of 379 businesses and corporations signed on to this ‘friend of the court’ brief to overturn marriage as the Bible outlines it.
–Over 300 Republicans showed their support for this effort to enact same-sex marriage equality.
–Nearly 2,000 so-called faith leaders have gone on record to defy Scripture and God to promote same-sex marriage.
–Pastor Rob Bell, speaking with Oprah Winfrey, communicated that the church is very close to accepting homosexual marriage and that the church is being irrelevant by using 2,000 year old letters to defend a position against it.
–Psychology Today Magazine bans ads for treatment of unwanted same-sex attractions (Reparative/Conversion Therapy).
–A Huffington Post columnist and 2016 candidate for the California Senate proposes LGBT homo-fascist police squads to enforce the gay agenda in California.
–A Planet Fitness gym in Michigan welcomes a man into the women’s locker room due to their ‘no judgment’ policy.
What’s next for a nation that not only tolerates but attempts to codify same-sex marriage into law at the national level? This is an important question to ponder as you review this vital edition of Crosstalk.
