January 22: Paul on how to start praying

If you struggle with praying – we’re going to look for the next few days at some of the simpler prayer requests of the Bible.

When Paul was on the road to Damascus – the LORD Jesus interrupted the journey. Paul prayed 12 words that we can pray as well when we’re struggling.

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Acts 9:5-6

Paul was misguided in his desire to persecute Christians, to say the least. When we feel lost – it’s often because we’ve forgotten who Jesus is. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he could walk on water. But once he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me

Matthew 14:30

Ask God to reveal Himself to you, and then ask Him what He would have you to do. Know your God and know His Will!
