Brian Sussman is a former meteorologist in the San Francisco Bay area. He has written two books: Climategate: A Veteran Meteorologist Exposes the Global Warming Scam and Eco-Tyranny: How the Left’s Green Agenda will Dismantle America.

As hurricane Sandy was inflicting damage, one could only wonder how former Vice President Al Gore would react. On his own blog site, Brian predicted what Gore’s response would be. Gore not only blamed the catastrophe on the burning of fossil fuels but went so far as to say it was strengthened by climate change.

The problem with Gore’s assessment is that according to Brian, there is not one meteorologist that would connect global warming or climate change with hurricane frequency, intensity or severity. Brian can prove this as he noted that the last several directors of the national hurricane center don’t even believe in anthropocentric, or man caused global climate change/warming.

Brian also debunked the idea that storms in the Atlantic become stronger because the waters in the oceans are warmer due to human induced climate change. The oceans are no warmer than normal. In fact, hurricanes need warm water to form in the first place but the warmer the water is doesn’t necessarily mean a hurricane will be stronger.

Brian finished his correction of Al Gore by mentioning that when there are times of warming on the planet (which usually occurs in cycles of approximately 27 years) there seems to be a decrease in the number of hurricanes and when there’s cooling on the planet, there seems to be an increase in hurricane activity.

The remainder of this Crosstalk looked at the “control” issues that seem to be driving today’s climate change madness. For example, Jim and Brian discuss…

…the tie-in between radical environmentalism on one hand and Karl Marx and a liquidation of Christianity on the other.

…a carbon tax to help with the budget deficit. This tax would likely drive up the price of anything that causes carbon emissions during the manufacturing process.

…a U.N. global agreement concerning the carbon emissions of airlines.

…the desire of some to prosecute alleged crimes against nature that they believe fall under the rubric of “ecocide”.
