Mark Holland has 36 years of teaching in Christian schools including elementary and secondary education and 26 of those years at the college level. He has taught Bible, math and science. Bible study has been his heart’s desire. It is through his study that he wrote the book, “Thrice Trumpeted Truths”. In his study he found more than 100 unique triple proclamations in Scripture.
Mark began by noting that it was Elihu, one of Job’s friends who said, “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.” So Mark decided to have his adult Sunday school class look at some of the “triples” from the Bible. What began as a 2 or 3 week curiosity turned into a 6 month adventure.
These are not hidden messages or new truths. Mark described the “triples” he found as specific truths, stated in the same way, usually in the same words and in 3 different places. They could be in the same chapter, in the same book or in the totality of the Bible.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is full of “triples”. So join Jim and Mark as they move through various portions of Scripture looking at some of them including:
–The 3 denials of Peter
–The 3 trials of Jesus
–The 3 proclamations of the crowd
–The 3 crosses
–3 days in the grave
–The “triple” of Christ’s victory over Satan, sin and death
–The “triple” of the world, the flesh and the Devil
