David Rubin is the former mayor of Shiloh, Israel in the region of Samaria, known to most as the West Bank. He is the founder and President of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund which is dedicated to healing the trauma of children who have been victims of terrorist attacks. He is a political commentator and Middle East expert. He is the author of 3 books including his newest, Peace for Peace: Israel in the New Middle East.

On today’s show David talked with Jim Schneider about the ramifications of the recent deal between the U.S. and Iran. The deal states that there will be an easing of sanctions against Iran in return for Iran suspending certain parts of its nuclear bomb program. Rubin says that this is a bad deal for Israel, stating that according to the deal, Iran can still enrich up to 20% of their uranium, which can be used to make nuclear bombs. Rubin added that Iran wants to see Israel destroyed, so it would be logical to say that any nuclear weapon made by Iran would be aimed at Israel.

He also gave some details about Israel and Saudi Arabia collaborating privately on a preemptive strike against Iran. He surmises that if Israel does conduct an attack on Iran that some of the Arab nations, namely Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait allow Israel to use their airspace.
