Numerous concerns have come forth concerning the agreement reached between the United States and Iran over Iran’s nuclear technological goals and development. In the aftermath of the agreement it was learned that many ‘side deals’ were being made in order to get parties to agree to the overall deal.
In hearings yesterday before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged that Iran might use the weapons obtained through this new agreement to kill both Americans and Israelis.
Joining Jim to provide greater perspective on this issue was David Rubin. David is the former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, in the region of Samaria, known to most of the world as the West Bank. He is the founder and president or Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. He is the author of four books including ‘The Islamic Tsunami’ and his latest, ‘Sparks From Zion.’
David has called this agreement a disaster for Israel and for the free world. He believes this because he feels that Israel could be wiped out in a minute by a nuclear bomb due to the fact that Israel is a nation smaller than the state of New Jersey. He noted that if Iran has a nuclear weapon, he believes they will use it against them and that they have clearly stated such intentions.
Regarding this being a threat to the free world, David indicated that Iran is working on long-range, intercontinental ballistic missiles while they work on a nuclear bomb to put on those missiles.
David went through a few of the aspects of the agreement including:
–No surprise inspections are allowed. Iran must be given at least 24 days notice.
–The Bushehr nuclear reactor and Parchin military installation are not mentioned in the agreement, yet according to David, these sites have been known for covert nuclear activity.
–The immediate removal of sanctions.
David believes this agreement will create a massive arms race in the Middle East. If the Iranians are successful in building a nuclear bomb, other nations in the region will want their own, particularly the Sunni Muslim nations who are concerned about Shiite Muslim Iran.
Review this Crosstalk and you’ll hear David comment on a recent controversial remark about the nuclear agreement expressed by presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee; a hidden detail that promises Western support and training to protect Iranian nuclear facilities from either attack or sabotage and much more.
