This Friday, April 21, will once again be recognized across the nation as the ‘Day of Silence’. This a a day organized by by the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN). While they claim they are focused on insuring safe schools for all students, according to Peter, they are a very radical organization that is all about ‘the war on normal’ concerning children from grades K-12. They have influence in the public schools as well as some private schools. They’re push is to ‘mainstream’ homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism, the latter of which includes numerous so-called gender identities.

So what exactly is the ‘Day of Silence’? Peter described it as, ‘…an activist day in which students take a pledge to be silent in solidarity with supposedly oppressed homosexuals all over, in their schools.’ He pointed to the irony in that this may be the only day when gay activists are silent. Usually they are very loud, obnoxious and disproportionately influential, even in schools. In fact, even teachers who sympathize with this activist agenda will also go silent to the detriment of other students who will be in school that day merely to learn and not to be part of a protest. A lot of schools either participate or condone this activity, with some even lying to parents, claiming that they are not sanctioning this event, an event that is supposed to take place only during non-instructional times.

Peter disagrees with the premise that you cannot disagree with the homosexual/transgender-activist agenda without being labeled hateful or bigoted. He believes you can protect kids from bullying without having anything to do with homosexuality. He contends that the homosexual lobby is doing what they’ve always done; playing off the alleged idea of victimhood to build their power. They then end up being the aggressor. The result is that freedoms are being taken away in the name of LGBT ‘tolerance’.

GLSEN is directing people who experience any ‘push back’ regarding this agenda to Lambda Legal to provide legal help. Lambda Legal is the largest and most powerful homosexual activist legal organization and has been very strong in the schools. Peter indicated this is one reason why some school administrators are afraid not to recognize homosexual activist events because of a possible lawsuit.

For this day, students participating will receive a card that says the following: ‘Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I’m participating in the ‘Day of Silence’, a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echos that silence which is caused by anti-LGBT bullying, name calling and harassment. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices.’

This movement has grown to such an extent that the National Union of Teachers in the U.K. voted for their members to teach about LGBT issues and lifestyles to toddlers as young as age two in order to reduce hate crime.

Peter summarized things well when he explained that the teaching of the Bible is clear. The practice of homosexuality is sin. It does not define a person but is a sin that Jesus died to forgive us of. Interestingly, the same homosexual lobby that talks about tolerance and celebration is very cruel to those who’ve left the lifestyle. They never want to include ex-gays, former lesbians and ex-transgenders.
