Have you noticed the spirit of fear that has a grip on many in our nation right now?  Have you noticed how we rarely hear about how many people tested negative or survived the virus?  Instead, newscasts continue to report growing totals of those who test positive for coronavirus along with the total death count.  There’s the fear caused by news reports of possible mandatory vaccinations, even before the vaccine is available.  Adding fuel to the fear is the mobs, the riots, the fires as well as the destruction of property.  All of this is causing some people to be so fearful that they’re afraid to leave their homes.

Dr. Gary Frazier joined Jim to discuss this topic of fear.  Dr. Frazier is a respected speaker and writer on the subject of Bible prophecy.  He’s the founder and president of Discovery Missions as well as the author of several books including, ‘Miracle of Israel,’ ‘Hell is for Real’ and ‘It Could Happen Tomorrow.’

Dr. Frazier told listeners that he’s reminded of Ephesians 5:18 where we’re told not to ‘…be drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.’  In other words, be filled with/controlled by the Holy Spirit.  At the same time, Paul wrote in II Timothy 1:7 that we’ve not been given a spirit of fear.

He went on to note that fear is not an emotion.  Fear is an evil spirit.  So we have only two choices in our lives.  Either we’ll be filled with the Spirit of God (Christ living in us) or filled with the spirit of fear that comes from the enemy.

When filled with the Spirit of God, we then function in the realm of the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, etc.–Galatians 5:22-23), attributes that reflect a relationship with the living Lord Jesus.  The other does just the opposite of that, robbing us of those same attributes while steering us toward apprehension and depression.

Is the existence of this fear purposeful?  Can we realistically keep everyone safe?  These are just two questions that Dr. Frazier answered as he attempted to bring biblical balance to the COVID-19 issue and how we should view the future.
