Robert Knight is a former Los Angeles Times news editor and writer and was a media fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.  He is a regular weekly columnist for The Washington Times, Townhall.com, OneNewsNow.com and others.  Robert has held senior positions at the American Civil Rights Union, the Family Research Council, the Culture and Family Institute at Concerned Women for America, the Heritage Foundation, Coral Ridge Ministries and the Media Research Center.  He’s co-authored three books and written 10 others including, The Coming Communist Wave: What Happens If the Left Captures All Three Branches of Government, and Liberty on the Brink: How the Left Plans to Steal Your Vote.

Robert believes the violence and looting taking place in cities across America is planned.  It’s about fomenting violence and a state of constant anarchy.  This will somehow help get rid of the president.  All of this will be his fault and the media will blame him.  They have, but Robert doesn’t believe that message is ‘sticking’ to the president; that the person ‘in the street’ doesn’t blame President Trump and they see the violence in Democrat-run cities/states as being committed by hard-left agitators.

Robert also debunked the prevalent media idea that the protests have been largely peaceful.  He cited an article from the Washington Post on what took place in D.C. after the Breonna Taylor case.  About 200 people were marching through an area where windows were broken, firecrackers were set off, some beat on traffic signs, broke windows at a bank and other businesses, toppled newspaper boxes, overturned chairs and banged on tables in a restaurant district.

Jim noted the culpability of the media in this matter.  He cited CNN anchor Don Lemon who communicated that we have to blow up the entire system.  That adds ‘fuel to the fire.’  Robert responded by reminding listeners how conservatives are told their rhetoric is hateful and it could lead to violence against people.  Meanwhile, the left is urging violent protests which he described as ‘stunning hypocrisy.’

As a journalist, Robert is appalled at the media and how they’re joining what he described as, ‘…the mob violence bandwagon.’  He said, ‘Instead of reporting truthfully, they’re only reporting what seems to be guaranteed to encourage more division, more racial identity, more hatred, more rancor and they’re not reporting what the average American is really thinking.’  So he believes they’re in for a real surprise in November.

As this broadcast moved along, Jim and Robert also discussed:

–Filling the seat left by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

–The philosophical balance of the Supreme Court.

–The voter fraud factor and where this may be heading as the election draws closer.

–Michael Bloomberg raising millions and paying the fines and fees of thousands of convicts in Florida so that they have the opportunity to vote.

Numerous calls were also presented from Crosstalk listeners nationwide.
