The ongoing news out of Afghanistan highlighted the week’s edition of the “Roundup”.  However, there was much more.  Here’s a brief sample:

–In an ABC News video, President Biden said no one’s been killed in Afghanistan despite reports of at least 7 deaths.

–Former Vice President Mike Pence said Biden broke our deal with the Taliban.

–President Joe Biden said there may be about 15,000 Americans stuck in Afghanistan.

–Twitter’s standards are called into question after users pointed out that a key Taliban spokesman has been using the platform to give updates about the group’s advance within the country, while former President Trump’s account remains permanently suspended.   

–The Biden administration moved in June to dismantle a system designed to protect American citizens trapped abroad just months before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, stranding thousands of American’s there.

–Sharia law is triumphant and democracy is dead in Afghanistan.

–Afghan Christians reportedly fleeing to the mountains in a desperate attempt to escape the Taliban who is going door-to-door trying to kill them. 

–The Taliban is rifling through people’s phones and if they find a downloaded Bible, they will kill you immediately.

–President Biden could have and should have evacuated American civilians before withdrawing the military.  

–The Biden administration continues to tell fleeing Americans to pay their way out of Afghanistan.

–Reports from Afghanistan have revealed that the Taliban has been confiscating privately held firearms on the grounds that people don’t need them for safety.  Sound familiar?

–One of the five Taliban leaders released by President Obama in 2014 in exchange for U.S. Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl is the mastermind of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

–Palestinians erected a flaming Star of David with swastikas inside telling Israeli’s, “We want to burn you alive!”  

–China has dispatched warships, ASW aircraft and fighter jets off the coast of Taiwan.

–China could now have access to oil, copper and rare earth minerals in Afghanistan.
