Here’s your weekly selection of highlights from the Crosstalk news desk as presented by Jim:

–The U.S. Senate is likely to delay a vote on the so-called Respect for Marriage Act until September.

–Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin appears to be “back-peddling” on his apparent support for the Respect for Marriage Act.

–85 national and state organizations have signed a letter written by the Alliance Defending Freedom sent to U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell  denouncing the ironically named Respect for Marriage Act (HR8404) urging him and his U.S. Senate colleagues to reject it.

–Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona announced that she was on board with the tax increases and increased spending contained in the falsely named Inflation Reduction Act.

–Several state coal groups have blasted Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia for sponsoring a bill that will severely threaten the industry.

–After 5 years of litigation and a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court ruling, the Christian flag flew at the Boston City Hall Plaza public forum flag pole.   

–The Biden administration declared the current breakout of Monkeypox a public health emergency. 

–Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued an emergency declaration this morning  due to the Monkeypox outbreak as the number of cases topped 200.

–Almost 100% of Monkeypox cases have occurred in men, and according to the WHO, at least 95% of those have occurred due to homosexual activity.

–President Biden announced that Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Kabul. 

–The U.S. State Department issued a new terrorist attack warning on Tuesday urging Americans to take world-wide caution when traveling due to a heightend risk of terrorist attacks and anti-American violence.

–Iran’s illegal oil trade has boomed under the Biden administration.

–Social media video posts from an Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps have translated the threat to produce atomic warheads for missiles in a short amount of time if the U.S. or Zionist regime makes any stupid mistakes.   

–The Islamic Education Center in Houston, Texas, recently posted a You Tube video of children ages 4-14 singing the song, “Salam Farmande” (Hello Commander).  The song includes lyrics where the kids “make an oath” to “Sayeed Ali” (Supreme Leader of Iran) and sing “I’ll be your martyr.”   

–The Biden administration approved a sale of patriot missiles and support equipment to Saudi Arabia, overriding prior campaign pledges to end arms transfers to them over human rights issues.
