Below are several highlights from Jim’s look at news events from this past week.  Stories included:

–According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, President Biden’s student debt forgiveness plan will cost U.S. taxpayers between 440 and 600 billion dollars over the next 10 years.

–Larry Summers, a top Democrat economist, warns that Biden’s debt forgiveness plan will cause even more inflation.

–Nancy Pelosi said in 2021 that the president does not have the power of debt forgiveness.  Instead, this has to be an act of Congress.

–U.S. magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart rejected the Department of Justice’s argument Monday to keep the Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit under wraps saying the government has the burden of proof to show why parts of the affidavit must be sealed.  Today the Justice Department filed its proposed redactions to its affidavit that explains the reason for the unprecedented search of Trump’s Florida estate, but it’s unclear when or if parts of the affidavit will be made public.

–After filing a motion to halt the Justice Department review of items from the Mar-a-Lago raid, former President Trump fired off a statement denouncing the violation of his rights under the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution.

–WMAR TV (Baltimore’s ABC affiliate) said the U.S. Postal Service facility found a tray of undelivered mail that included 26 blank ballots from 2020.     

–Some 5,000 Texans who used a P.O. box as a voter registration address, will likely be able to cast a ballot in the state’s mid-term election after a federal judge blocked a 2021 state election law.      

–George Soros and other left-wing billionaires have flooded a Chuck Schumer- aligned Super PAC with millions of dollars as they look to maintain a majority in the upper chamber of Congress, according to federal records.

–Another up and coming New York politician, Kristen Gonzalez, used her recent victory in the New York primary to brag about socialism.  Jim provided audio.

–Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson has accused the U.S. of procrastinating in indirect talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

–Israel and Arab countries bracing for world powers to re-enter the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal.

–Iran prepares to take out Israel right after Iran nuclear deal is signed.

–A new report from the Office of the Inspector General at the Defense Department confirms that the value of U.S. military equipment abandoned and left behind by the Biden administration in Afghanistan, and now under control of the Taliban, is worth 7 billion dollars.

–The Biden administration marked Ukraine’s Independence Day with a 3 billion dollar security assistance package.

–President Biden is back building the security wall…at his Delaware vacation beach house!
