Our culture is becoming increasingly hostile toward Christianity. We’re told to “get with the times” or to keep our religion within the four walls of our churches.
The guest on this Crosstalk indicated that as the intolerance toward Christianity increases, this is not a time to be silent nor to hide. In fact, he believes it’s imperative that we stand up for biblical truth and expose the works of darkness.
To guide listeners in that effort, Crosstalk welcomed back Dr. Erwin Lutzer. Dr. Lutzer is Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church where he served as the senior pastor for 36 years. He’s the speaker on the radio programs Running to Win and Songs in the Night. He is a speaker and an award winning author of several books with titles including: The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent, Life Changing Bible Verses You Should Know, We Will Not Be Silenced, and the newly released, No Reason to Hide.
Dr. Lutzer began by noting that we as Christians didn’t go looking for a culture war. This war is on our doorstep and we can’t avoid it. It’s in our law, our schools, businesses and media and he encouraged listeners to stand strong.
So what’s the difference between this latest book and his previous effort (We Will Not Be Silenced)? Both books are about the culture but this latest one has new chapters not covered in the previous book. For example, one chapter is called: “Will We Expose the Greatest Lie That is Our Nation’s Most Cherished Delusion.” This has to do with the ascendancy of the self. Elsewhere he covers diversity, equity and inclusion and how these work against us. There’s information on the global reset, the history of racism, and if we should feel guilty because we’re told we’ve stolen land from the native Americans.
Other points dealt with in the book that Dr. Lutzer elaborated on include:
- What is meant by collective demonization?
- How can we take a stand for Christ in the midst of the Critical Race Theory debate?
- How propaganda silences people and can make evil appear good and good appear evil.
- Transgenderism–This is one example of how people are getting comfortable living with lies.
- How does a church go “woke”?
