Here’s a brief selection of stories from those that made the cut as Jim presented another edition of the News Round-Up:

–On Wednesday afternoon a Chinese high altitude balloon, suspected to be a spy balloon, caused Billings-Logan International Airport to shut down for about 2 hours.

–The People’s Republic of China confirmed that the balloon hovering over the northern U.S. is of Chinese origin, is used for research/meteorological purposes, and deviated far from its planned course.

–Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed his visit to China in light of the recent balloon discovery.

–A covert overseas police station run by the Chinese regime in New York has been shuttered following a reported raid by the FBI.

–The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution (H.Con.Res.9) condemning socialism.

–The FBI searched President Biden’s vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Wednesday and found no classified documents there.

–Senator Ted Cruz says the FBI should search Hunter Biden’s home and office for classified material.

–The FBI is expected to search for classified documents in the Indiana home of former Vice President Mike Pence in the coming days.

–A retired Air Force intelligence officer who took hundreds of classified documents home with him is facing the possibility of 10 years in prison as similar probes unfold against multiple top U.S. leaders. 

–Hunter Biden has now admitted that the infamous laptop does belong to him.

–24 Senate Republicans have signed a letter to President Biden saying that they will not support a debt ceiling increase without spending cuts.

–When speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York on Tuesday, President Joe Biden falsely claimed that his administration had cut the federal debt by 1.7 trillion dollars during his first two years in office.

–Wednesday the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points issuing a 0.25% hike in line with earlier expectations in a move that signals a rate slow-down in the feds fight against inflation.

–The IRS is looking into any transactions of $600 or more starting with your 2022 tax returns.

–House Republicans are moving along two tracks to put pressure on Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas as investigations into border security begin amid new calls for his impeachment. 

–The Department of Homeland Security is no longer attempting to prevent 2 chief patrol agents from testifying at an upcoming House Oversight Accountability Committee hearing about the ongoing crisis at the U.S./Mexico border.
