In Genesis 12 it says:
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
The very existence of this nation, Israel, has been called a miracle, and yet with so many enemies surrounding her, she remains. In fact, Israel, which was birthed in 1948, is celebrating 75 years of statehood.
With more on this momentous birthday, Crosstalk welcomed back Chris Katulka. Chris is assistant director of North American Ministries at The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry and host of The Friends of Israel Today radio program. He is a Bible teacher and writer for Israel My Glory magazine and is author of the book, Israel Always.
Israel is only the size of New Jersey with about 8.5 to 9 million people. About 7.5 million are Jewish, with the rest being either Muslim or Christian. It’s become the largest Jewish population in the world with the U.S. Jewish population being second.
Beginning with Emperor Hadrian (who tried to remove Jewish heritage in various ways), join Chris as he takes you on a radio history tour, highlighting numerous events as well as important people in modern Israel’s history like Theodor Herzl (leader of the zionist movement), Lord Arthur Balfour, David Ben-Gurian and believe it or not—Harry Truman!
