Fast Facts: Bees – Part I

Carl Kerby

Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope! I’m Carl Kerby and, today, we’re going to be talking about what may be the most important creature in the animal kingdom!

Without this animal, there’d be big trouble trying to feed all of the people on earth. That’s because, without it, our supermarkets would have half the amount of fruits and vegetables that we have today.

If you guessed “the bee,” you’d “bee” right!

It’s been said that, if the bee were to disappear from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.

The fact is, God designed the bee to pollinate over ninety fruit and vegetable crops worldwide. It would be just plain silly to think that this symbiotic relationship happened by accident and that most of the food we rely on is just here by luck.

In 2007, over thirty billion bees vanished from North America. Whether it was pesticides, electromagnetic radiation, or something else, what we do know is that, when man interferes with God’s perfection, he corrupts it perfectly.

We’ll learn more Fast Facts about this little creature next time, but, until then, stay bold!
