Fast Facts: Ants – Part V

Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope! I’m Carl Kerby.

Do you know how big the largest ant colony in the world is?

The fact is, if you walked around it, you’d be gone a LONG time.

There’s a super colony of Argentine ants which stretches for over 3,750 miles! That covers a lot of God’s landscape.

To give you an idea of how big that is, imagine starting in New York City, walking all the way to Seattle, Washington, and then down to San Francisco, California! Once there, you’d STILL be almost one hundred miles short of walking the whole ant colony. UNBELIEVABLE!

Argentine ants prefer sweets, but they’ll eat almost anything.

One unique design is that their queen will also assist in searching for food. Most other ants’ queens won’t do that.

Did you know that there are three kinds of ants in a colony? We’ll talk about that in the next Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope. Until then, stay bold!
