William Bradford – November 11, 1620

Experience the American dream with today’s Patriots of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.

It’s November 11, 1620. I’m with William Bradford on the Mayflower. The ship has just landed at Cape Cod.

JG: “Mr. Bradford, what are you signing?”

WB: “Mr. Gillespie, it is the Mayflower Compact. It will be our constitution to live by. We do this for the glory of God in the advancement of the Christian faith.”

Governor Bradford, as the leader of the Mayflower, signed this compact, making it America’s first constitutional document.
