JG: “Sir Pitt, what are your thoughts about Congress meeting in New York City to challenge your Stamp Act?”
WP: “Mr. Gillespie, your cry of no taxation without representation is just and wise, as I believe the king’s Stamp Act is unjust and unwise. We must do away with it before our colonial brothers do away with us.”
The rebellion to the Stamp Act laid the foundation for the American War for Independence.
