Martha Washington – November 17, 1776

Experience the American dream with today’s Patriots of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.

It’s November 17, 1776. I’m with General Washington’s wife, Martha.

JG: “Mrs. Washington, why do you look so upset?”

MW: “Mr. Gillespie, British rumormongers have said that I am opposed to the war. Nothing could be further from the truth. I, like my courageous husband, am an American patriot, committed to the cause of freedom.”

Committed to freedom, Martha Washington faithfully supported her husband, ran Mount Vernon, supplied the soldiers, and prayed for America.
