As the world focuses on the Persian Gulf, many believe that the European Union may well be able to ease tensions between the United States and Iran

JD: It looks like that really the European Union is the only ones that can ease the US-Iranian tensions. Is that pretty much on target?

JR: Well if the EU is the only one that can ease the tensions then we’re in for some trouble. It’s been a sideline player. The EU does make a stand that they want to make sure that an escalation is avoided. They can have a role there but they will not be able to step out in a neutral form to workout solutions. So the fact that the EU is being seen as one of the players that actually can input into the situation this shows that we live in a troubled world.

JD: We talk about the 10 toes there in Daniel chapter 2 on the statue of the man which represents the Gentile world powers. Those 10 toes representing what you and I refer to as the Revived Roman Empire. They’re going to be made of clay and metal which doesn’t come together and so there’s going to be confusion, is that not correct?

JR: Absolutely, and we do see an escalation. The eyes are turning towards the Middle East. We certainly want to monitor the positioning and the relationship between the European Union and the Middle East because we know that the eventual antichrist 10 nation confederation will have those strong ties. So we do indeed see those particular things lining up.

JD: John Rood explaining why the European Union may not be the one to ease tensions in the Persian Gulf between Iran and America. But they must be ready to step up to the task.
