Doubling to $1,000,000

Would you like to have a million dollars? The formula is simple enough. Just take one dollar and double it twenty times and you will have $1,000,000.

Let’s suppose you were actually able to do this over a 20 year period by doubling your money every year. When would you be half way to your million dollar goal? After 10 years, right? Wrong. You would not be half way there until your 19th year. The real payoff comes between the 19th and 20th years when you earn a half million dollars.

That’s often the way God’s calling for our lives work. A pastor, Sunday school teacher or missionary may labor many years with meager results, but God is preparing them for a season of great fruitfulness in the future. The reason many of us could never double our money to a million is we cash it in after 10 doubles for a trinket.

Remember, when tempted to quit, holding out for the 20th double will redeem the time.
