Trading Time and Money

How do you get your money? For most of us, the answer is we get money by exchanging time, which we own, for money, which our employer owns. In other words there is a constant tradeoff going on in our lives between time and money.

Some people wonder why they never have enough time. It may be because they aren’t careful enough in how they spend their money. Money that is spent must be replaced the only way to do that is to spend more time making more money.

One way to save time the, is to look for ways to save money. It was Ben Franklin who said, “Time is money.” But a greater authority than Ben Franklin, the Lord Jesus, told us not to lay up treasures in this world. Jesus knew that to accumulate treasures would require time-lots of time that could be better spent. That’s why we want to be careful with time and money, because when we’re saving money we’re actually redeeming the time.
